[There is another tree in front of this tree in the main photo.] "Thomas Shepherd was a horticulturalist in the 1800s. Patrick Lindesay Crawford Shepherd, who was one of Thomas's sons, owned nurseries in this district. He was also a landowner and MP and he built the house next door to this one in 1875. He subdivided the land in 1886, when we think this house was built. I suspect our Redwood was planted at this time." |
